What are the conditions for difficult separation?

‘Which separations are difficult?’ is often asked.

The following are examples of difficult advanced separations.

Difficult condition 1:
・Separation of liquids and liquids with small differences in specific gravity.
<Past experience>
 Separation of light liquids with a specific gravity of 0.97-0.98 compared to heavy liquids with a specific gravity of 1.

Difficult condition 2:
・Separation of very small particles.
<Past experience>
Classification and separation of fine particles of 1/1000 µm.
Particles larger than 1u are collected as solids and those smaller than 1u are collected as slurry.

Difficult condition 3:
・Separation of liquids with high viscosity
<Past experience>
Impurities are separated from highly viscous liquids.
Separation by reducing the feed speed and increasing the centrifugal effect.
(If the viscosity can be lowered by heating, this is carried out).
