Our history

More than a century working on separation in Fukushima, Osaka.

Our story began in 1918 with a small workshop making hand-operated centrifugal dewatering machines. We have continued manufacturing at our original location, developing centrifugal separation for marine oil purification and, later, pharmaceutical, food and fine-chemical production.

A sustained focus on difficult separations has led to KS specifications reaching 40,000 G. Here we present the history alongside our intellectual property and awards.

The founding years

  1. Founded at the present address in Sagisu, Fukushima-ku, Osaka as Kansai Centrifugal Dehydrator Manufacturing. Began designing, manufacturing and selling centrifugal separators.

  2. Under encouragement from Osaka Prefecture, operated as a Navy-controlled chemical machinery factory, primarily manufacturing KS and D ultra high-speed separators for marine oil purification, as well as other centrifuges and chemical equipment.

  3. Incorporated. Continued designing, manufacturing and selling KS ultra high-speed centrifuges and NV marine oil purifiers.

Growth and development

  1. Began manufacturing horizontal continuous centrifuges (decanter type).

  2. Developed the high-performance U-series centrifuge, advancing KS ultra high-speed technology.

  3. Registered Utility Model No.1228811, “Centrifugal Separator”.

  4. Registered Utility Model No.1283585, “Continuous Centrifugal Water-Extraction Separator”.

  5. Opened the Tokyo sales office in Chiyoda-ku.

  6. Improved the KS design in response to customer requirements.

  7. Began development to improve the performance of the KS U-series.

  8. Launched the KS U2-series.

  9. Registered Patent No.3520182 for a liquid-level detection device for centrifuges.

Recent developments

  1. Began development of the KS U3-series.

  2. Registered Patent No.5634377 for a cylindrical centrifuge.

  3. Began development of an improved lower structure for the KS model.

  4. Celebrated the company’s centenary.

  5. Received both the Excellent Manufacturing Company of Osaka award and the Intellectual Property category award in the 2022 Osaka manufacturing awards.

  6. Featured in Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun.

  7. Exhibited at INCHEM TOKYO 2023.

  8. Updated the product catalogs.

  9. Renewed the company website.

  10. Featured on Yomiuri TV’s “BEAT — The Pulse of the Times”.

  11. Exhibited at INCHEM TOKYO 2025.

Technology recorded as intellectual property

We have continued developing our own centrifuge structures and control technology. This work was recognised with the Intellectual Property category award in the 2022 Osaka manufacturing awards.
